in living color, thedropin.org is up and running. it did take much longer than expected, so some of the info on the team is a little outdated- but overall, major success!!!
big thanks to john huffman and summit multimedia.
some other big news... young life may be comin to summit county. God planted a desire in me one year ago, and the fire is spreading! people are becoming interested in pouring into teens, and that is the main thing. that being said- if young life does make it in summit county, the focal point of the drop in might change... TO BE CONTINUED...
i promise i'll send the update that has been on my desktop for a month now. can't decide email or snail mail... paper or plastic???

look out- it's wednesday!
so today is wednesday- let the madness begin. let me give you a quick look at the long sprint this day brings each week. never a dull moment.
so its around 9ish here in the mountains and i am watching the snow fall like dandruff, like it has for days. so that cumulatively gives us a whole inch... pray harder people :) but by this time every morning i have usually had breakfast. i pound some vitamins to round out my oatmeal. i would be sipping coffee and somewhere in the middle of my 15 chapters of the bible per day. that's right- my church is reading through the entire bible in 90 days, so each morning bout an hour is devoted to that. after that i have a coffee with one of the small group leaders here in the county. we discuss the needs of the small group, and how the drop in can help it succeed and be intentional.
that ends in enough time for me to get to the high school for lunch. one of the highlights of my week! there are three lunches there, so a few of us from the church are allowed to come and join the kids once a week. you would not believe how God has blessed this. kids are allowing us into their lives, problems; they are introducing us to their friends... the kids, as well as the team look forward to this each week (i got scolded by several teens for missing a week). i pound some advil for the back.
straight from there i grab a quick lunch for myself (round 2), and get back to the house to prepare for wed night youth fellowship. i polish up on the songs i have been practicing that week so they will be ready for leading worship in a few hours. i gather my things and say a quick prayer. i pound an Emergen-C for the minor cough. i get to the church in enough time to overlap with my mentor for a bit before he has to leave. kids show up at 5 for fellowship. i lead a quick band rehearsal (with the boys from my small group) to make sure we are all on the same page. we pray for the evening. we finish quick so the boys can take a few passes on the churches skate equipment (except for ryan- he is in a wheelchair with two broken legs) before we start leading the group in worship. ryan practices wheelies in his wheelchair. i pound a hot tea for the vocal chords. youth group runs till 830-9ish depending on how long all the kids want to skate, 4 square, guitar hero, and socialize. sometimes if we have the energy, the leaders will meet after (till like 1030).
after i finally get home, i might shovel the inch of snowdust from the drive. i catch up with the roommates for a min while i pound a hot tea for sleepy time. i pray and thank the Lord for the awesome day, making sure to ask for snow. i sleep- hard.
God bless your wednesday

other than that, the team is stayin pretty busy with youth work at Dillon Community Church, leadin small groups, and runnin Team Grom (youth shred days on the mountain- very effective for gettin into lives!) pray for all the activities as well as safety. as soon as i learn to how upload pictures on here i would like to post a few. so keep your eyes peeled for that.
thanks everybody for your prayers and support!! the Lord is doin some really awesome stuff here and i can't wait to see what He has in store for the future. IT'S ALL FOR HIM!!

christmas update
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the drop in!
WOW!
The past few months have seen more development and progress than I feel I can express in a single update, because of the massive amount of things God is doing.
Since moving into the house the Lord has been crazy about affirming what we are doing here! In every meeting and in countless other encounters God keeps showing us He is on board and people here in Summit County are hungry for the kind of relationships and accountability we are offering. HE IS SO AWESOME!!
One of the new developments worth giving some detail about is that we are now allowed to go to the high school and have lunch with the kids!! This is a big deal because we get to break into their world and get involved with their lives outside of a church setting. It has been amazing to see God work through this opportunity.
Other recent highlights:
- We now have small groups meeting at the drop in house.
- There has been AMAZING shred time with youth on the hill! This is really where the heart of the drop in comes to life! It is so important to show them how Christians do every day things like hitting the slopes. They know how Christians do church, but we get to show them how to represent Christ everywhere.
- God provided the rails for the backyard terrain park. This one was all Him! No doubt!
- More roommates moving in this month. I am super excited about that one. I’ll have to take some time on that in the next update.
Man, there is so much more happening I would love to share with you! For more info and regular updates, get on the email list. Do it. Seriously. Email thedropin.org@gmail.com and say "gimme dat info!!" to stay up to date.
Thanks for your support!

landed primo location!!
thanks so much to all the prayer warriors who have been committed to lifting up the drop in to the Lord. we have been seeking His will and seeking a house, and God has opened up some very precise doors to lead us to this place. PRAISE HIM and thank you guys.
God has put together a stud varsity team to live and fellowship together this winter. all have a heart for the ministry and are uber passionate about kids and young adults! between their hearts and experience in some specific areas of need, i am certain they were hand-picked.
continue to pray for God's guidance and for us to become less everyday, so we may see this play out exactly the way He wants; no us.
God is at work- stay tuned for what He does next!
grace and peace
